At first its height is 180 meters.
Jeju’s special autonomous province is located at the end of the Seongsan Peninsula, which is located in the east about 5,000 years ago.
Especially Seongsanbong Peak, like a rare underwater explosion volcano that erupted during the mid-second peak, has a large bowl-shaped flat crater all over the island.
With three sides forming a sheer sea of salt, there are 99 rocky peaks surrounding the crater.
Seongsan Ilchulbong Contents
First of all inside the 2.4-kilometer crater, grass stretches out, resembling a huge amphitheater.
Since this grass has been used as a chachet and grazing area for residents of Seongsan-ri since ancient times,
there are almost no trees, and there are hardly any silver grass.
At the summit of Ilchulbong Peak, a crater with a diameter of 600 meters and a floor surface of 90 meters above sea level, covers 214,400 ㎡ (the area of Seongsan-Ilchulbong-Peak crater).

It was designated and protected as Jeju Special Self-government Monument No.36 In 1976, but was changed to Natural Monument No.420 on July 18, 2000, including Ilchulbong Peak.
